Aid Climbing

This course is a primer in basic aid climbing principles. It is a great introduction to the knowledge base you'll need to climb big walls, and also serves as a valuable stand-alone learning day.

You will learn aid methods, leading, ascending fixed ropes, improvisation using slings and prussiks, simple "pull throughs" and many more tricks and tactics to use whether you are free climbing on the closest crag or high in an alpine environment.

 

This is only a small view of what one could actually take on an aid climb. We will examine both clean gear (i.e., nuts and cams) as well as "dirty" gear that damages the rock, such as pitons in this course...
