Advanced Rock
Similar in nature to our Fundamentals rock course, we will assess your background and current ability to add any kind of learning that would be helpful on the rock.
This course is designed for climbers who have some working knowledge of ropes and are ready to tackle climbing longer routes or more easily advance their grades. Generally, the difficulty of the grade on the hardest routes of the day is from 5.9 to 5.11-.

The advanced course is designed for climbers who have already have experience in lead belaying and standard safety procedures such as how to tie in. |

Part of the advanced course is addressing what it's like on smaller holds and steeper rock. Another thing we'll talk about is strategies to climb on different rock types, for example, the limestone pictured here. While most of the crags in this area are sandstone, within a few hundred miles you have an extremely varied menu of geology including granite, gneiss, limestone and quartzite!
